On Sunday, July 23rd, the District II CPC (Cooperation with Professional Community) committee held its first exploratory meeting.
The goal was to gauge the interest in carrying the message to the professional community for the alcoholic who still suffers and offer an opportunity to be of service to the current members. While it’s always important to remember we get new members with attraction rather than promotion, it is important to make sure the community knows that AA is available to anyone looking for help with drinking to excess.
To that end, Josh S., the CPC chair for the district as well as for Area 1 introduced the CPC concept and goals.
There was a lively and enthusiastic discussion amount the 20 or so members in attendance.
David P. introduced the new District II Postcard to be distributed among the district by local members.
The group agreed to meet again on July 30th at Cullman AA hall at 4:15 PM to discuss specific plans to organize the outreach. More information is on the District II members-only Facebook Group.
