Meeting Meetings

Opening:

  • 25 in attendance
  • David P. opens the meeting with the Serenity Prayer.
  • Tony L. read traditoions 1,2 & 5

 Reports:

  • Stephanie I. read the minutes from the October meeting. Motioned & accepted.
  • Chris B. read the treasurer’s report. Balance of $3,717.41. Motioned & accepted.
  • Nick Y. filled in for DCM at the Area Assembly. The topic was archives. Barbara & Annette were present. Preconference literature will drop in February.
  • Tom B. reported on GV literature. They have visited veteran’s places, clinics, & hotel lobbies. We need to start cataloging where we have been & coordinate with other committees.
  • Amy B. has visited hospitals, ER, chaplain, & doctor’s offices for PC.
  • Charlsa P. has been handling church outreach. She has two more scheduled & asked that others reach out to help if they can.
  • Gerry M. reported on Corrections outreach. Morgan County was very receptive & appreciative.
  • Nick Y. gave GSR report for Hartselle. More people have been volunteering for service positions.
  • Amy B gave the GSR report for Goose. Service positions have been filled with new elections.
  • Jenny C. gave a GSR report for Eva. Attendance is consistent with 5-12 people at each meeting. Working on reserve & filling service positions.
  • Zeb L. gave GSR report for Cullman. Things are going smoothly. He is the new GSR.

Old Business:

  • Chili dinner profited around $800.
  • Grapevines have been ordered by Chris B. and delivered to John S. Grapevine Committee chair.
  • Picnic update: Tony L. is confirmed as the Picnic Chair. The District group supported a motion to move the Founders’ Day Picnic to Sportsman Lake in Cullman. Justin F. said his mother is the manager at Sportsman Lake and could help with pavilions. The motion was approved to schedule it for June 8th
  • Website update. The calendar has been implemented on The12Traditions.com/upcoming. This will be where all upcoming events, workshops, and area events will be listed. Send all requests to David P. 

New Business:

  • Justin F. was nominated for activities coordinator. The motion was made and accepted.
  • Gerry M. A Literature workshop called the Area 11 Literature Road Show with Patty H. for March 23rd. A hotel & gas budget will be required.  Amy. B says it’s a great workshop. Chris B. motioned to provide hotel & gas for Patty H., the Area 1 Literature chairperson. Motion accepted.
  • The Area 1 Convention is November 1-3 at Fort Walton Beach. Amy B. needs suggestions for the basket. The theme is Miracles of Love & Service.
  • Pre-conference literature will drop in February. GSRs will receive the documents and discuss questions with the group to get feedback for the Area Delegate.
  • Mountain Top May 17-19 at Guntersville State Park.

Closing:
