You may know that the quarterly Area Assembly held at the Clarion Conference Center in Auburn has been under review for quite some time. Due to the loss of their franchise, the state of the hotel, and the end of the contract period in July, the search for a new location for the Area Assemblies has been underway for a while.
District 2 received a note from the Area 1 chair with a PowerPoint presentation about the new assembly options. Clarion is still one of these, even though the facility’s status in 2025 is precarious. Below is the information from the Area 1 Chair and the PowerPoint presentation.
Note from the Area 1 Chair about the Venue Selection
I appreciate your patience as we finalize the venue options for Area 1. I would like to extend my gratitude to Les Hardwick, our Venue Search Ad-Hoc committee chair, and the DCMs who dedicated their efforts to this task at the beginning of 2023. It has become apparent that several hotels and venues are currently unable or unwilling to accommodate our requirements.
As requested from the May 26th Venue meeting, I have prepared a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining our current options.
The PowerPoint includes a financial breakdown, with more detailed information forthcoming at the June 23rd, 5 p.m. meeting. Please have your financial questions ready.
It is imperative that we assess our needs and make informed decisions to secure an adequate meeting facility that will meet Area 1’s current needs.
As mentioned, our next venue meeting is scheduled for June 23rd from 5 to 6 p.m. If you have any questions before the meeting, please refer to the contact information provided on the last slide of the presentation.
